Orange Honey Balsamic Chicken Super Salad

 

The good thing about having super salad is that you can pretty much eat as much as you want.   If you are hungry, it is one of the few things you can eat until you are full.  The calories are so low in salad and chicken that it fits into any diet. I am on 1200 calories a day now, and it fits (with room to spare).   And it tastes pretty darn good too!  Plenty of flavor! Continue reading

Lemon Garlic Marinated Chicken Breasts with Rosemary and Thyme

Back in May, my husband and I started changing our diet in an attempt to lose some weight.  We also started working out, bought some exercise equipment, and have been more mindful about moving more and eating less.

Fast forward 7 months to December, and we are really doing great.    We are not done yet, but we both agree that even when (and if) we get to our ultimate goal weight, we cannot go back to the way we were eating previously. Continue reading

“Frappuccino” Protein Smoothie

My husband and I have recently purchased an Apple Watch and joined up to “MyFitnessPal” in an attempt to get into better shape.    It has been an eye-opening experience as we have, over the past month, re-evaluated pretty much everything we have been eating and have been making adjustments for a healthier lifestyle.

I mean – I guess I knew that “grilled cheese sandwiches” were not a health-food, but I didn’t realize just how evil they were until I  entered a “recipe” into Myfitnesspal and evaluated the nutrients and calories.   Good Lord!

Even the greek yogurt smoothie I was making on a daily basis had to be cut (too many calories and sugar).  Our love of comfort food has taken a back-seat to better choices. Continue reading
